2010 CTS Sportwagon

Cadillac

Cadillac is on the FLASH bandwagon.    Am I the only guy in America who HATES FLASH?.... Someone PLEASE launch a good site with little flash! For the customer who might have bought a Sport Ute or a crossover, but are really concerned about fuel costs, Caddy now offers a more conventional car based wagon with an AWD option. Sitting on the same 113.4" wheelbase as the CTS sedan, it should come in about 350lbs lighter than the SRX crossover. I don't have pricing information on it yet, but it should hit the showrooms around March 2009.
The SRX is Cadillac's crossover SUV. The SRX typifies what a good crossover is. Not an off-road vehicle, but a roomy, comfortable vehicle that has good street manners and can help keep you out of trouble with AWD.

Cadillac AWD Choices

The STS is the first GM vehicle equipped with the new 3.6L direct injection V-6 engine. This bumps up horsepower by an impressive 47 ponies. STS with the AWD option upgrades tires and brakes as well. Using the same basic platform, the smaller CTS and larger SRX crossover are also available with AWD. None of the Caddys have a manual transmission option with AWD. Car and Driver Magazine also praised the 2008 CTS, naming one its 10 Best Cars. Here's what they said, " The Sigma platform and its all-independent suspension benefit from six years of development to deliver an excellent combination of handling, ride, and fine responsiveness ".
2007 STS There are 2 trim levels for the V6 Cadillac STS AWD option; the Standard model, and the Luxury. The Luxury trim level focuses on interior upgrades; a memory package for two drivers, Eucalyptus wood trim, BoseŽ AM/FM stereo with 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The Luxury Performance version carries an AWD option as well, but only when equipped with the powerful Northstar 4.6L Variable Valve Timing V8. That top o' the heap STS carries a $63,595 price tag. Prices for the Standard with the optional AWD system start at $46,845
2008 CTS The 2009 Cadillac CTS with the AWD option includes the 263hp version of the 3.6l V6 and Cadillac's 6 speed automatic transmission. The 3.6 Direct Injection version can also be had with AWD, and also includes a 6 speed automatic transmission. At 113.4 the CTS wheelbase is exactly 3 inches shorter than the STS or SRX. But caddy has hidden a mandatory $200 option on their base AWD CTS, so the real entry AWD price is $39,666; up almost 2 grand from last year. Still no AWD sportwagon version in 2009.
2008 SRX

The Cadillac SRX is based on the same platform as the CTS and STS sedans. . Named Car and Driver's Best Luxury Sport Utility Vehicle 3 years in a row, the SRX is obviously hard to beat. It gets a lot of praise for its car like handling, making it ideal for buyers who are looking for their first SUV and aren't used to wheeling a big heavy truck. Prices for the 255hp V6 SRX w/AWD jumped and now start at
$44,045
