Infiniti

The Inifiniti web site is a pure pleasure to browse around. Fast and nimble. Makes me want one of their cars! Yes, they use FLASH, but not exclusively and not with enormous file sizes. What a relief! Just wish we could get better images to download.

With all the AWD Infinities, the electronically controlled automatic transmission senses your driving style and adjusts automatic shifting accordingly. AWD models use Infiniti’s ATTESA E-TS (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All Electronic Torque Split) all-wheel drive system. It utilizes an active torque distribution management system with an active center clutch designed for smooth starts and better traction and maneuverability on snowy roads than conventional all-wheel drive systems, plus minimal compromise of rear-wheel drive performance characteristics on dry roads.

Infiniti AWD Choices

2009 G37x coupe The 2009 Infiniti G37x AWD is available as a 2 dr coupe or a 4 dr sedan. Powered by a new 328hp 3.7 liter engine, the fun factor just keeps getting better. With a curb weight of 3791 lbs., its 112.2 inch wheelbase, helps agility. AutoWeek heaped praisde on the 2008 version, and Car and Driver has selected the G37 as one of 2009's 10 Best. The "hot-rod" of this market segment, it still delivers a 500 mile cruising range. Prices for the G37x AWD coupe begin at $38,700 while the AWD sedan now starts at $35,750
2009 M35x The 3.5 liter Infiniti M35x AWD is joined by an AWD version of the 4.5 liter V8 powered M, called the M45x. Based on the same chassis as the G, FX and EX, it is stretched and strengthened, making the M slightly bigger than the G. For 09, theM35x uses the 3.5 liter V6, which now pumps out 303 hp. While the M has an inch or two over the G in almost evey interior spec, they are identical in hip room. So check them both out before you sign on the dotted line; you won't regret it. Both are excellent cars. Prices for the 09 M35X AWD start at $47,950
2009 Infiniti EX AWD The 09 Infiniti EX 35 has a 2-inch shorter wheelbase (110.2") than even the G37 sedan, and is smaller all around except in legroom. Weighing in at 3,053 lbs, it is no flyweight. Luckily, the 3.5 liter engine in the EX makes 297hp, so you won't notice the weight so much. Visually cued from its larger sibling, the FX, only the weak lower front chin line mars what is otherwise a very attractive styling package. Little changed for 2009, prices for the EX35 Journey with AWD start at $36,850.
2009 FX AWD

The 5 passenger Infiniti FX series still has 2 AWD options available. The V6 FX35; upgunned to 303hp, or the 390hp FX50 (which adds nearly $15,000 to the FX35 list price). Both get mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission. Subtle changes this year reduced the FX's drag coefficient by about 5%, and added additional wheelbase. The FX is equipped with the Vehicle Dynamic Control (which people like me can disable). If you tried hard enough, I bet you could run up the FX50's sticker price to push $100,000. Prices for the FX35 start at $43,600
